One observation that I find interesting: I remember when Apple bought Emagic [or e-magic sold out to Apple, according to your point of view :hihi: ] when a lot of outraged PC users said that they'd never be bullied into buying a Mac. It seems to be happening though, after all the outrage has died away. Well, good for Jobs i guess. :D

Yeah well, same observation made here.
And, even worse, I've been one of those "never ever will I follow those strategics!" dudes.

Seems I didn't study other sequencers carefully enough up to that point.

Sad thing though. I really somewhat like PCs while at the same time hating such corporate tactics.

So, if Jobs bought your local Water utility and would only maintain your connection to the water mains if you bought a spiffy new Aqua Mac (to replace that butt ugly meter which he just couldn't abide being associated with his aesthetically superior company) you would pony up the 5Gs and just shrug and say:

"Well, good for Jobs i guess. :D"

Well ... wouldja Punk?

I really don´t know how to qualify EXPERTS that can´t find the velocity tool on SX .
it´s on the midi map on the control lane ,there you can assign it to velocity or another parameter you find adequate.
I like more the mixer on SX and never trade it for the logic until they sort the presets handling on they pesky implemmented AU as for the PDC ,off line processing ,background rendering , hardware plugs and a drum map.
last SX records to automation tracks any given parameter you input.
Sasha you keep telling people a whole load of bull disguised as information.
i really hope to hear the Logic "experts" they comments on this:
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?t=29802
i don´t get what esoterical MIDI functions L7 has that SX and other sequencers don´t have ,after all the invertors of VST technology were Steinberg Team .
on the Audio department well,L7 is not a contemporary program ,rather primitive it is full of gripes and unfinished

if you don´t like SX mixer there are a lot of chainer plugins that you migth slap it in, they are inexpensive ,you can apply the processing move around plugs within them ,save presets and apply them offline ,
mean while don´t mess with SX mixer let it be what it is , a true mixer not wise ass gizmo that fells apart if someone blinks at the wrong time.

stag, it's you talking utter nonsense again.
If you don't know Logic's velocity tool, don't even bother comparing it to SXs controller pane (that I very well know of). It's a completely different pair of shoes.
The same goes for Logics mixer. If you don't know it, stop arguing about it.
I happen to know BOTH SX and Logic and all all you're just trying is to make yourself looking stupid and uninformed. Period.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!

oh wait..what was this thread about again? :hyper:

I've missed the velocity tool even. I've made two logical presets, one for adding +5 velocity, one for decrease -5, and assigned keycommands to it. It's not as good as velocity tool, but one can live with it.

Nope, I'd probably throw a pie at him or something. Thank God the situation is a bit different here tho. :D

I'm a PC user btw, I didn't mean to laugh at the victims of this horrible corporate move.

To edit velocicities or which ever parameter on SX we a have the arrow tool and then 6 more of them (Draw, Line ,Parabola ,Sine ,Triangle ,Square and Paimt)
you prefer a thingy you have to enter data ,i prefer Steinberg´s way .
it´s a lot more clever ,however who fails to RTFM ,"like the famous know it all" ,find that hard to understand ,as if he noticed it on the first place. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

stag, may I kindly ask you to stop replying with such nonsense content?
I know about these but it's YOU who clearly doesn't know about the velocity tool in Logic.
And fwiw, all the options in Cubase are there in Logic as well. The velocity tool isn't. And there won't be anything even remotely close to it, no matter how hard you try to describe whatever funtionalities. So just stop it!

You mean like a .44 Magnum Pie? You've made my day! Oh, and make it a meat pie too - eel works for me... Buahahaha!

Regarding Tracktion's MIDI view-- You probably didn't realize that you can resize the filter area to give you more real estate. ;) And in T2, you will be able to completely hide the functions to the left and right of the edit lanes, giving you 98% of your available screen space. Expand that into 2 screens, and you're looking at a heck of a lot of real-estate.

T1 has plenty, too... probably the same amount or similar and you just didn't notice. ;)

Can you please describe this mysterious Velocity Tool?
