How do people like those vocal samples, from Precision Sound?
The first set has two female voices. One can purchase samples of either one, for download, ah,oh, or mmm, or buy a CD with all three sounds of both.
If one was to buy a single one, which of the two female singers voices do people prefer, and why?
The demo MP3s they have for download all have both voices together, so it's hard to hear how they sound individually. Could anyone characterize the difference?

Hello!
"Jenny" has the darker voice and "Sabina" has a more operal/boys choir kind of tone. Hope that will give you some guideance.
Best,
Lars

And remember you can buy the whole bundle as a download also, not only the CD-Rom.

I have both AVP and AVP2, and though I probably shouldn't I tend to stack both voices with several variations, then play with the filtering and LFO in the sampler because what I'm looking for is a sort of shimmery composite rather than something that sounds like a particular person.
I like them alot

I have used the Jenny in slow jazz and electronica I like the breathy quality to the sample, very cool for highlights in jazz and stabbs. They sound great!
also you can layer them for ambiant styles and others.

Thank you for the info, Lars, that is very helpful. That info (describing and comparing the two voices)really should be on your web site as well. (If it's there, I didn't find it.) Also demos of the individual voices, not just both together. (Are there any that I missed?)precisionsound wrote:Hello!

As I would be using it to make practice recordings for children's choirs, it sounds like Sabina would be a more appropriate voice for that purpose.
One other question--I noticed a couple sampler formats that these come in. How about soundfonts? Do they come as soundfonts as well?
For the download version, can one choose which sampler format or soundfont of the purchased sound or sounds to download, or can only download a package with all the formats? (The former would make it a smaller download, good for those of us who still use dial-up connections.

Yes there is an option when you download the AVP's. You can deside if you want to download the 16bit soundfont or the 24 bit HALion/Kontakt after payment. You pay for the right to use it, not the format. So, if you want the 24bit's you can go to your download spot and download them later if you want. Well the demos shows the sound of them both in all demos. I agree that it would be more informative to have some demos with only "Sabina" and " Jenny". For the moment there is nothing i can do about that, sorry.
Best regards,
Lars

Well I can't speak about AVP since its one of the few products from Precisionsound I don't own, but I'll say that I recommend anything from them. I messed up an order once and Lars was kind enough to fix it for me, even though he didn't have to. I've bought almost every library they have for sale and the quality is exceptional on all of them. I can't wait until he releases some more. Now to buy the Keyboard collection and the Privilege flute!
PS. If you like cool original instruments, do yourself a favor and pick up the Swedish Keyharp while you're shopping there. Thumbs waaaayyyy up.

Yes, I bought the bundle. The only gripe I have with them is that I have no mapping assignment for the what plays when hitting a key.
Edit: The quality is stellar though and there are a LOT of sounds in each kit. A lot of 'unexpected' sounds that I wasn't expecting. Very well worth the purchase, it could just use some kind of documentation.
