Originally they announced K2 would import "virtually" (love that weasel word) all sample formats, which list included Ensoniq EPS/ASR. This news got me all hot and bothered (to put is as xoxos would) since I've been using an ASR for years, and have built an extensive sample library in ASR format. Now they've changed the wording on their website to say something like "ASR/EPS and Kurzweil to be included later".
My guess is once they actually tangled with these beasts they realized this was not such an easy claim to let roll off the tongue, hence the backpedaling, and my disappointment. I was ready to pay the whopping $169 upgrade at a drop, now I'm not so enthused about it, as my pessimistic side tells me they will most likely drop their ASR format ambitions once K2 is out the door
Moral: You can't blame developers for having high hopes and wanting to please their customers, but as a consumer, you should take everything they say with a grain until the rubber actually hits the road.
