do you feel you have a bigger chance in winning our monthly contest if you post as the first or the last contestant ? or is having a good track the only essential ?
Do you feel you should limit your entry into having a very loud entry or do you leave the choice in loud up to someone's volume knob ?

It's possible, and for that reason I don't listen to the entries until the contest is closed, and then I listen to them in shuffle mode.
As far as the loudness goes, it's probably the same as anywhere -- to most people, louder sounds better, but too much limiting sounds grating (especially to musicians). I think it's just common sense to at least have peaks close to 0dB; however far you go beyond that is a compromise and only you can decide what sounds best.
