In a conversation, how would you say DAW?

Anything about MUSIC but doesn't fit into the forums above.

without sounding completely nerdish.
Is it D.A.W.?
or Dô?

Does anyone even use the term DAW in normal conversation, or just revert to music PC?

I need a better alternative to DAW.

Post

personally I cringe when I hear* the word, I think it sounds a bit pretentious - mine's a computer

*or rather read - I guess you'd pronounce it "door" (in uk english anyway)

I wouldn't bother, everyone seem's to lose the will to live before I even get to that word.

"Computer". Though if you have two, "Music PC" is a pretty safe bet.

I call it My PC, although in a totally different language, so it would be Tölvan Mín. :hihi:

I usually don't talk about computers in normal conversation. And when I do, I just say "my computer" or, in swedish, "min dator".

'puter'.
Hmm.. maybe that's worse than saying 'DAW'.
Maybe you could pronounce it 'duh!'. That way, you can use the term, but simultaneously show your dislike of it. Maybe.
I'd agree with Chase tbh, except I end up saying 'puter', 'box' or 'computer', just cos I'm never sure if anyone will understand what I've just said (happens often with normal words as well ).
'you make music using your door? how does that work???' :hihi:

Post

how about "dork"? :hihi:

the funny thing that happened the other day was my best mate telling me he's bought a computer and could I help him get to grips with it. I said "sure, what do you want to use it for?", he replies "I dunno". So porn I guess...

it's looks like 'DAW' ,
but it's pronounced 'throat warbler luxury yacht' ...
