I've downloaded a bunch of them, but have quite a large spool of things to hear before I'll get to them. I'm definitely looking forward to it because I sense the level of composition will be good. Many thanks for the link.

Well definitely check out Richard Birdsall's piece (the winner) and Kentaro Sato's piece (a runner up.) These are simply amazing to me. I can't wait to hear the live versions of these. Man I hope the recording goes through since I have to slave all day.

Daylight saving went into effect a week earlier in the Czech Republic than in the USA.

The time is still the same in Europe - 7 PM (Czech, Germany), 96 PM GMT (UK).

For the USA the revised time is 12 noon EST (East Coast), and 9am PST (West coast).

For those of you that missed the performance, here are some links to audio only mp3's of the winning entries:

http://www.gpo-uploads.com/Contest/Crai ... s_Live.MP3

There is some noise in these due to the nature of the recording.

Enjoy! Compare these to the originals and post your thoughts. Look for a re-broadcast of the original performance soon!

(Not that you folks seem to give a rat's arse :hihi:) But here's a link to the video from the concert. You'll need a pretty decent connection to get the full effect, but it's worth it.

There's been talk of a DVD as well.

thanks for those live mp3s, i've actually been looking for them since i missed the webcast. pretty excited to hear how the songs sound when played by a real orchestra - the top entries were pretty damn good.

i don't know about the video, though... if it stays online for long enough, i might have a look at some point :) still, thanks for the link.
never stop loving music.

You should watch the video. The orchestra really got into some of those pieces. I really wish I could have been there to see it. Of course, video is the next best thing. Check it out if you can. I'm not sure how long the link will be up. I'm going to look at getting it in some form of downloadable (as opposed to streaming) format on a permanent server.

I'm just glad I'm not talking to myself in this thread. :)
