Actually, I don't believe I have told people how to compose or what their music should be like. What I have done is stated my opinion (but yeah, I know you hate it when people do that) about most modern electronic music - I think melody is the most important element in a song, and I don't think it is right to just drop loops into a sequencer and then call it your own music. I don't. I am not forcing that opinion on anyone else, just stating what I personally think.
As for the "shut up" bit, no you haven't explicitly told anybody to shut up, I'll grant you that. But instead of "discussing" or "answering" posts, you attack and ferociously dissect what other people write. And to me that just smacks of "I want to be king of the sandpit"-syndrome.
Actually I have a life too. But unlike yours (it seems, sorry if I am wrong), mine primarily takes place outside of this forum, you know, in the real world.

a melody is a nice thing. however, within the modern tonal system, which is limited in term of variety, we can safely declare that all the possible tricks have been used and overused. possiblities are limited, like it or not.
atonality and/or playing with noises and sound effects are some of the multiple ways composers of the last decades have explored in order to be creative rather than just copycats. i don't know if the result deserves the term of music (it's a simple question of definition*, imo), but it is certainly art.
*my own "definition": music is the art of time (i didn't invent the formula)...
