Delay Time

...when using delays there is often the option to go into "dotted time". Can anyone please define this term for me?....CHEERS!

One dotted eighth note equals three (straight) sixteenth notes.

Dotted = "Note" x 1.5
Triplet = ("Note" x 2) \ 3

Or so me thinks anywho.
