Sorry, but I can't pay a penny for something that still has the SINGLE MOST important bug left to work out. I thought this problem, above all else, was supposed to have been taken care of. What have they been doing with their time? I just can't see spending anywhere near $100, let alone ANY AMOUNT over it, for something that "kind of" works. Bummer too. Hope they're working on an update right now....spaceman wrote:demo limitation?
one missing note at beginning.. yeah right

if you're talking about the re-wire dropped first note bug, AFAIK that is gone.tkmattson wrote:Sorry, but I can't pay a penny for something that still has the SINGLE MOST important bug left to work out. I think they're talking about the stuck note render, which truth be told, is easy to work around, um, for something FREE. Ain't no way I'm going to shell out any cash though for something that still has a problem like that though. I thought they said specifically that that one had been taken care of. Exactly which stuck note issue are you guys talking about?platinumears wrote:if you're talking about the re-wire dropped first note bug, AFAIK that is gone.tkmattson wrote:Sorry, but I can't pay a penny for something that still has the SINGLE MOST important bug left to work out. Hey!! Don't knock it 'till you've tried it! I get some great acoustics up mine!spaceman wrote:and I'm sure tracktion sounds 20-40% better when you've got your head up your arseRangtangtang wrote:Traction and cubase are the best ones. Rule #1: Different Strike for Different Folks
My reasons for Tracktion over everything else?
A) Cubase is unpractical without a dual monitor set-up, Steinberg even recommends it in the specs and that's just for starters, no need to hash over the rest again.
B) Sonar's audio engine is shite on my system with ASIO drivers. Like ttoz once said "dropout is more common than playback". Since then I've got a 'yucky' feeling for all things Cakewalk who seem to favor WDM.
That being said I really hope that "fist note" bug is gone...then I've got no gripes with T2.

If you were a Mac user... (If)... You'd probably have a few AUs lying around that you might want to use in your DAW... So, are they serious about the Mac, or what? Not too many Mac VSTs out there, unless your an NI complete sucker... er, customer!

Tracktion is cross-platform, ie: no AU and no DX.DHR53 wrote:If you were a Mac user... (If)... You'd probably have a few AUs lying around that you might want to use in your DAW... So Clueless, can I magically view a VST's GUI in Tracktion without actually seeing it then?
In order to use a VSTi, you're going to have to, at some stage, open it, and look at it. How does Tracktion prevent this from happening?
Obviously it doesn't!

Well, that's Cubase and Sonar covered, what about all the other alternatives out there?Cosmic Bandito wrote:Rule #1: Different Strike for Different Folks

FTR... I tested it with FM7, and Pro-53 and no stuck notes so far. Haven't tried the Sampler yet though... When the midi editor is open, in a track in the middle of the screen, the tool bar appears (transparently) over the above track, which is kind of weird... But I'll have to say, being able to just drag an audio clip to stretch it is, um... The way it should be in Logic!! That really annoys me for $1000.
