The best MIDI interface belongs to Music Studio Independence, but you'd never think it judging from the fact that almost nobody even knows it exists, and the programmers of other products aren't remotely interested in improving their MIDI interfaces. Talk about arrogant.knoob wrote:IMO, the best midi interface still belongs to Reason....so intuitive and clean. Unfornately, Reason doesn't support vsti, so i don't use it anymore.
I wish Sonar had that midi interface

hmmm...sondius wrote:Could somebody name some programs that have 'cluttered' interfaces if they think Tracktion is any improvement?

Well damn me! It looks like somebody already thought of the 'uncluttered' look about twenty years ago...

Yeah, I know, felt stupid as I wrote it. But I do know it's either ALT or CTRL. I think that holding down all the keys in GENIUS would be a little unintuitive.CypherOne wrote:chagzuki wrote:Knowing the key commands for the midi editor is what makes the difference. bloody hell!
is nothing sacred anymore?
Podium has imo by far the cleanest most user friendly interface of all sequencers!
(work with it for five minutes and you'll see what I mean!)
And this isn't really any wonder as Frits' former job was it to design software user-interfaces for T.C.

I agree..
Podium's UI is a f**k of a lot better that Tracktions twingly twinky hupsadaisy children UI (20-40% better some people might tell you)
cubarse and to some extend sonar I can understand.. but not Podium.. it's a dream to work in

I think you need to spend a minimum amount of time before knowing wether a UI is good specially for something such as a midi editor.spaceman wrote:I don't need several hours ....
to find out that the midi editing is still bad and the UI ........
still looks toyish. I also mentioned .......
Most of the time at first different=bad. But after some practice things may change.
