... I can't believe I heard that on the radio!
that one's by "dj ötzi" - and boy, it's really bad.

Most recent one that comes to mind is Robbie Williams single Rock D.J

HI

Can't remember the title but it was a hip-hop version of 'It's a hard O life' - I worked with a young offender who used to like to play it to me several times a day - over a period of months I came to hate the tune with a relish rarely seen in the west.

Flipper.

i have a few actually.. how about every track off Metallica - St Anger
that one also qualifies as the worst recording, cleverly marketed as a "raw" sound. What a bunch of rip off artists those once talented kids became.

Because you aren'y touched by any kind of balkan (bulgarian, serbian etc.) pop-folk (AKA: chalga).
That would change your life... forever... for-ever. :) :o
As a rabid fan of REAL Balkan folk music, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE! There's nothing worse than raping a beautiful folk music tradition by turning it into shitty club music :x
For those that have not yet heard such horrors (if you have the stomach, try "Kamelia"), just imagine a watered down fusion of Turkish/Rom/Slavic folk being filtered through the very worst of Eurovision dance shite.
:x :tantrum: :bang: :x :tantrum: :bang:
/was listening to Valya Balkanska's Lisna, Goro, Spushi Sa right before I read that post, and am now pissed that I remembered how awful that Çalga is...

Maybe, but it did have a cool riff.

With that riff, I didn't even notice Puff Daddy so much. :)

Kashmir just happens to be one of my absolute favorite songs. You might expect me to be upset that Puff Daddy changed it around, but if it made some money for Jimmy Page, and Jimmy was cool with it, who am I to complain?

There will always be the original Kashmir recording, as well as the expanded live version from the Page & Plant album No Quarter. I'm sure practically everyone knows where to get the original song.

I wouldn't seek out Puff Daddy's version, but there are things that annoy my personal tastes far worse than his version of Kashmir.
