It appears at least 5 Logic 7 synths appear in Midi studio.
If you have Midi studio look for the following identical plugs…

Music Studio 2005 > Logic 7
Carpet sweeper > ESE (Pads)
Percursor > ESP (Brass)
FMx1 >EFM1 (Bass, bells…)
MTB6 >ESM (Bases and lead sounds)

And now….

VAX9! > ES1 (Bases Rich, pads…)

Magix must still have some kind of deal with Emagic because not all of these synths appeared in the mac version first.

The FMX1 or in Logic 7 EFM1 appeared in Music Studio 2004 first it was added in the patch download *before* logic 7 came out.

This one in particular (FMX1 / EFM1) was a real exclusive first for Magix, which never appeared in any version on mac or PC before its debut in MS2004. Very odd.

I wonder if the ES2 synth will find its way into Music Studio 2005 or at least 2006. My guess is either Apple is not aware of this back door to Logic synths for £50 or they did not want to buy Magix out of whatever deal they clearly *still* have with Emagic when they bought them.

The rewire addition takes it to a whole new level.

All the synths above are listed in this link below check out the EFM1 Audio Player (right of screen) which gives some nice examples of the EFM1/ FMx1

The midi studio (logic) part of Music studio hosts VSTi's and VST FX even withtout rewire.

I have used the Sonalkis plugs and the imposcar they both work.

Can you use insert effects in the midi studio. I heard you can't. :(

If not, how do you deal with EQ, etc in midi?
I like working mostly in midi as I only have a small hard drive.

Not sure but it looks like each audio track has 4 sends and per track EQ. Thats it as far as I can see.

Personally I would solo a track and use the bnce button (last button in the main out) and send it to Audio studio for processing anyway.

Midi studio still appears to have the 16 bit 44/48 limit, but at least Audio studio can handle 24 bit files.I personally would not process anything in midi studio. Rewire should help as Fruity, Reason, Live,P5 e.t.c all have thier own FX anyway...if you have one of those packages of course.

Ok compared to logic what does midi studio have.

Does it have inserts ? Are they pdc compensated ?
Does it have the same Midi editors as logic?
Is the environment there ?
How many tracks and vstis are available ?
Sends, auxes ?
Multiout vstis ?
Does it work with plugins logic PC can't , e.g. Zero vector ?

What version of logic would it be comparable too ?

Thank you in advance
