Hey hey kids,

Got an email from Ableton with a free offer to upgrade my delta version Live (came with audiophile soundcard) to the latest "lite" version 4.

I used to own full verson 4 (seperate licence so no issue) but i sold it. So i'm thinking this live 4 "lite" might be good for simple digital DJing.

Trouble is, when i install live 4 Lite from the website (accessed using my delta version serial code) it sems to just install the full version 4 again, and displays the old full version 4 license code in the "products" section of options etc.

I tried delteing every reference to "ableton" from the registry but it still does all this when i try to install again.

Any ideas how to fix this? Want to see what new little toys i can play with

I can tell you when I installed the update it loaded as full version until I activated it with my livelite serial number.
I got a message that the next time it would load in livelite mode
Did it happen after you put in your livelite code and restarted it?

Well this is just it, it didn't (as expected) ask me for a code, it just took my old full license code from somewhere in my PC and it was fully registered full version without me doing anything.

So my guess is that somewhere in my registry there is a code already there, and i need to remove it. But how the hell do i find it?!

You might perform a search for "Ableton" in Regedit and remove everything you find. If you're brave at heart, that is

Don't know if it works. Better to make a backup of your registry anyway.

I just checked my registry
I didn't see anything in the software folder of 'hkey current user' or 'hkey local machine'
but I did find a live folder in 'hkey classes root'

Ableton Live "Delta" version upgrade problem
