I thought for sure that on the Tracktion 2 web page I read that tere was a new step sequencer built into Tracktion 2 so when I got the demo i looked and looked for it but it doesn't seem to be there.

Then I went back to the Tracktion 2 web page and the little snippet of info regarding the step sequencer on the product page for Tracktion 2 is gone. and it's not listed in either of the two PFD files you can download.

Am I nuts or was there really a step sequencer part of tracktion 2 and maybe they removed it for whatever reason? I swear to god I saw it. :-)

There is a step sequencer there. Open up the MIDI editor and there's a button called "Step". I haven't used it yet, but I know it's there.

I'm hoping for a drum grid built-in to the midi editor... That would be slick!! Maybe a few things will be added by May?? ...But now I'll have to use T2, because I'm attached to my interface! Nice to be able to make things at least, "look" the way you want!

yup, step recording.

1) select a track, and connect the midi input to it
2) add a new midi clip (from the bottom panel or press 'G')
3) double click the new clip to open its midi editor
4) click the STEP button
5) choose a desired note length

now when you play notes on your midi keyboard, they will be entered in 'step entry' manner; you press one note, it adds it. the next note will be added AFTER the last one, and each note will be the length that you set. this way you don't have to record in real time.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
