Hi,

I use Ableton Live 4.x and would like to get a better hand on my bass following some of the tips provided by Computer Music. I am now looking for some plugin that would cut frequenices below any Hz I choose. Any freeware/buy which does the job. I can't figure out what they use in CM. Must fit a PC platform (XP Pro).

Cheers

lol you dont need a plug in man you already have it in live. To cut frequencies below 60 hz, you simply use an equalizer, like the one in ableton. High pass filters also let high frequencies "pass" meaning they cut bass and let highs pass. A high pass filter set at 60hz would slowly turn down the volume starting at 60hz but leaving the rest of the frequncies untouched. You are probably doing this to your kick drums to get them out of the way of your bass. This is a standard trick. Too much bass is a common trend when you first start producing. Do a google on "how to use eq" or "eq types" or "what is a high pass filter?"

good luck mang.

BuzVintageMaxi = mastering compressor (great sound, not transparent) has a LOCUT option that does what you need.
GranComp3 = multiband compressor - has a LOCUT option that does what you need.
