Pretty interesting, huh?! Vintage emulation going from softsynth to hardsynth. I hope they also price these things right. They should be worth around $500, IMHO.

I think it's gonna be something similar to the new Virus. The sound engine in the hardware but you can also control it as a VSTi...
I think they're a little overpriced when you consider something like the Alesis Micron but then again, you're talking about state of the art emulation. I have them all for the scope card and they're the only VA synths I play with these days...

I think this a great idea introduced by the new Virus to have a dedicated hardware box but with also VSTi type functionality. Actually, I don't think it's their idea. They were just the first ones to implement it. Hopefully this will catch on and the big hardware manufacturers will start to release their products with VSTi connectivity without fear of piracy. Hardware with the benefits of software. Excellent!

I think Creamware's XTC mode was exactly that - hardware integrated as a VST plugin. But there seemed to be a lot of stability problems (something that Access was (is?) facing too).Man-Machine wrote:I think this a great idea introduced by the new Virus to have a dedicated hardware box but with also VSTi type functionality. Anyway, the new ASBs don't provide any audio integration. The USB port is for MIDI connectivity only.

Oh, I see. But you still have the visual control like a VSTi to change sound parameters, select patches, and of course basic MIDI...
