Is there any way to map the knobs on the Oxygen8 to the volume sliders ion T2? Would I have to define the cc on the O8 or can you do it from within T2?

Could you explain how you did that?

Thanks

It's describedc in the manual.

*Any* automatable parameter can be mapped to an incoming MIDI CC using the mapping tool.

Just click 'Automation' button in bottom right, select 'create midi controller mappings' and map your controller. Easy. Only thing is I believe this is saved on a per edit basis, not globally, so using a controller like my StudioMix may be a bit inconvenient to map everything for each project.

seems to only remember one vst at a time too..
mapped vangaurd then switched to tau pro and it overwrote everything...can this be true?
Or do I need to go back to manual?
Still makes life easier though.

I hope this isn't the case.

Regardless, it's an improvement.

Is there a way to make a default project template to use in every new edit? I'd hate to have to remap 30+ controllers for every new project when the hardware is always the same.

you are mapping the cc, not the plugin.

You can only use a given CC once. If you want to use the same MIDI control on a number of different VSTis, you're a little stuck. Most MIDI control surfaces support paging, which is the easiest way to reassign knobs for different tasks. You could also use something like MIDI OX to do remapping outside of Tracktion.

Still, there's no way to make a global cc map? It has to be done on a per edit basis? This works fine for the Oxygen8 really, since you're only dealing with 8 controllers, I can live with mapping them for each edit. But it would be nice to have this whole feature beefed up a bit, I'm no expert so I'm not sure what needs to be done.

Not the end of the world though. But can you make a template? Somehow? Please?

Prepare an edit, and export as an archive. This can then be imported into future projects, and re-named accordingly.
