Hello Everyone,

I would like to invite you all to have a look at The Freesound Project.

-> http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/

This project was started in the context of ICMC 2005 (international computer music conference), and is a website for creative-commons licensed audio material exchange. If you want to know more about the project (why it was started and what it's goals are) have a look at this page:

-> http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/whatIsFreesound.php

Don't hesitate to contact me (bdejong @ iua . upf . edu or just use the contact form on the website) for more information or feedback.

kindest regards,

Hi everyone,

freesound could be a fab free sample resource.

I have about 100mb of tenor sax samples that I made about a year ago that I don't intend to use for anything and am gradually uploading them to this site. So far I've uploaded a bunch of riffs at 90bpm, in D minor, Dmajor and G major, all trimmed to either 4, 8, 12 or 16 beats long, at 44.1khz.

Please feel free to check em out and use em - do let me know if you find them useful.

Cheers

I should be getting my edirol r-1 tomorrow, so I'll be contributing soon.

GREAT!

We need all the contributions we need :)

make sure you don't submit any factory patches, or ROM waves - they're copyrighted :?

Bram, love the site, looks good and its good,

..but theres this rule, we gotta say the name of the author of the samples we use if we one day we publish the track somewhere.. right? something like that..

its just i plann to use , and already use so many samples , that i change, distort , " f.. up " them all and use everywhere ... so many ( so far just "free" of this rules stuff..i think :) ) , that if one day i end up releasing something i would have to have maybe 20 pg. with the names of every sample´s author of the smaples i use..

The edirol r-1 is just a portable stereo recorder. It doesn't come with any presets, though it has built in effects (which I probably won't use).

So no need to worry about me submitting copyrighted waves.

Also I have a really nice stereo setup with my emu 1820m, but as of now the computer contributes a little bit of background noise. I'll post some samples I've done with that and see if the noise is intolerable.

Folks:

Do check out these sax samples - as well as the whole website. You'll love the performance, tone, feel and "soul" of these tenor samples. They are well-structured musically and very useful.

Fine sax work simondsouza - you'd be a welcome addition on my bandstand anytime.
