Not yet. Soon though. I am in Germany now about to show it at the Musik Messe. Setting up now in fact. There's a new IK product announcement too. Something that the studio really needs. A good... woops.

Huh? That would be, like uh, your opinion man!Beardedone wrote:Good news. I hope that the unatural sheen prevalent in A1 will be gone.

Just to try to clarify: What I am hearing is actually pretty good sounding clean tone, though with many of the clean presets there is, for lack of a better term, a kind of sheen or slight veil when I play my acoustic (Larrivée LV-05E through an AMT S3G condensor pick up). Even my electric, Ibanez AS80 through A1 VST is not quite as good on the clean tones as I would want. Note that I this sheen is only noticeable at higher volumes but as I don't care much for distortion (which Ampliube is really good at emulating) I don't think Amplitube is something I will be buying.Beardedone wrote:

Huh? That would be, like uh, your opinion man! Just kidding. But, anyway, it is a whole other level of amp modeling than AT1 or anything else. There is a realism that I hear with it that blows me away. It's something about the harmonics and the way it crunches that is so much like the real deal that I am so excited about it I can't wait until it is done. I have a preliminary version though. He he.

I noticed it as well....I called it an 'aftertaste' for lack of a better description.Beardedone wrote:I can't believe no-one else hasn't noticed this.
BTW - I unexpectedly ended up in a studio last week playing my Strat through a 'Bad Cat' Head and a MXR phase pedal - HOLY SHIT! I had forgotten what truly inspirational guitar tone is. I think all the VST fx put together don't sound as good as 1 MXR phaser right now

To each his own. Many thousands love AT1. But, anyway, speaking of AT2... a different animal.Beardedone wrote:Just to try to clarify: What I am hearing is actually pretty good sounding clean tone, though with many of the clean presets there is, for lack of a better term, a kind of sheen or slight veil when I play my acoustic (Larrivée LV-05E through an AMT S3G condensor pick up). Not to take away from the convenience and utility of Amplitube which is great. But I guess once you have played through the real thing it's hard to take VST alternatives super seriously. I'd prefer to tote around a plugin rather than a pile of cabinets, heads and racks. To be fair Amplitube does sound prtty damn good esp if you like overdriven sounds which A1 does in many flavours. I am not that big a fan anymore ofheavily distorted guitars, preferring a Jim Hall or Bill Frisell sound and sometime at the extreme distorted side a John Scofield or Mike Stern texture occasionally. Recently I have been working on getting the closest sound I can for my solo acoustic guitar tracks : I am finding that all I need are three tracks - one from a external condensor, one from an AMT S3G pickup and one from guitar's B-Band transducers. The only effect I need is a bit of compression. No reverb or eq. Sounds gorgoeus like the instrument itself but bigger.

I will certainly demo T2 to see what's been added. But with Studiophonic on the way I got to watch my pennies...

Sounds like you found a great tone for your acoustic. I'm completely re-evaluating what to do with my electric. I don't own any amps since I moved to a studio apt and don't think recording them at home is feasible anyway. I've seen Har's studio pics and am thinking maybe a few well chosen pedals/boxes before going to the mixer may work for a inspirational tone - maybe something like AT2 could fit in there for the amp-models if they 'get there', but the MXR phaser and maybe a Moog pedal are in the cardsBeardedone wrote:Beardedone wrote:
