Is there an application out there that creates visualizations like winamp/windows media player that can accept audio input in real time.

Would like to use something like this for a live show with a projector but I am not sure what would work.

Thanks.

Don't forget the very cool G-Force..

of course the very quick, cheap alternative is just to use the linein:// option in winamp.
this statement is unprovable

thanks for all the links!

looks like there are MANY options

very many... i'm surprised it isn't adopted more in the electronica circles, especially some of the A&V packages. ...make sure none of the softwares have any odd licensing, copyright, or other sort of restrictions. there's plenty that don't have the restrictions, and the ones that do are deserving of the trashcan.

I'm pretty fond of Smoke:

Very pretty fluid dynamics sim.

The live input plugin for Winamp works great. So far, the latency seems fine. Not sure of the best way to get input to it at a gig, though. The obvious choice would be outputs from the mixing board but this isn't always an option. Maybe just set a microphone somewhere off the stage?

I would like to do some realtime video editing projection as well and that resolume application seems nice.

Sonique is a media player that has visualization capabilities beyond any other on windows. With the right plug-in, you can make it visualize line-in.
