Sorry,
Can't give you any Mac specific, but check out
www.osxaudio.com
I think that is the right link. I am on PC, but there are also some good ones that are cross platform...Crystal is one that I can think of off hand. I think it is X-platform.

This might seem a bit lame, but the synths that come with Garageband are actually pretty damned good. I believe you can use them in any other host that supports AU.

I'm not a Mac user but of those I've used on mates machines - Zoyd / Generator / Crystal / Buzzer would be my favourites.
Generator is exceptionally good I might add.

GB instruments won't work in Tracktion BTW. And Generator and BuzZer are AU only as well. You can look for ReFX plugs like the Claw.
Actually, I think all the free OS X VSTs are bundled with T2, believe it or not:
freeAlpha, CheezeMachine, TickyClav, the Claw, etc.
Maybe everything but Crystal.
I say just upgrade to T2. You'll also have SampleTank SE, RMIV etc.

If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

(check all categories in first post, problems there refer to the VST-RTAS wrapper, not the VSTs themselves - so follow all links)
