It works well in Orion, and has a unique sound above and beyond FM7 et al for sure.

However, it seems really CPU heavy. Especially with the nag screen coming up so often. Would that spike % decrease greatly without the nag screen? Also, it'd be nice to use 'select all', and/or use highlight and Shift to the next patch to select and load a block of patches. Also, cannot see any effect of the Import function of DX/TX sysex data into the synth?

I'd like to donate a couple of bucks, because I know the best of sound makers here could create some phenominal voices for Foorius I'm sure.

PS - for Orion users, you can load Patch by Patch to make a full library loaded and Save as a .PRS preset for quicker loading and access.

Wow! Holy crap! I'm lost for words!
Just playing around with it for 1/2 hour. Programming possibilities are huge and the filters are great (obvious - giving that its Antti of Asynth fame).
Crap - I just bought Kubik too and haven't gotten around to learning that yet and this comes out.

I'd love to take this synth for a spin, but it crash's hard after a minute or so (when changing patches) in Cubase SE.

if I can suggest something aout waveforms: first, make all the waveforms in the wav folder appear in the dropdown menu, and not replacing one default by a custm, but having them all in the same menu.
then, ability to save and load snapshots of waveforms at every "wave position": currently you have to draw 127 differents waves, it could be cool if we can import some waves at certain point, then morph between those point. just ideas, maybe it's already possible and I missed those ones

I am mighty impressed by the sound and preset-bank. It's digital though organic sounding. It can sound small but complex.

I had a very serious crash though using it stand-alone. I just tried changing a few parameters and had the help-screen open and then bang: ASIO crash. The audio was 'hanging' and I had to power down my laptop. I am on WindowsXPsp2 and RME Hammerfall soundcard. Everything in shape, updated, drivers etc.

Maybe this will be fixed... should be a bit hard to reproduce.

got another crash with the stand-alone. seems to have something to do with sustaining on a note while switching presets or changing controls.

You do know you can draw your own digital waves and save them

Personally quite like the layout as is myself.
Pretty well thought out and findig the different OSC's isn't that hard - It's only the Digital waveforms that really have a big drop down menu / ditto the lfo waveforms.
Been having fun with it most of the day

btw How is this sort of donationware different from shareware? Lots of shareware has nag screens but no timeout so how is this different from that? Donationware should mean contributions are encouraged but voluntary - sure it's voluntary in the sense that you could carry on putting up with the nag screen that's pushing it a bit in my book and certainly no different from a lot of shareware.

1.: why is it important to you how it is called?

2.: the major difference is that you decide how much to pay.

But if you don't like it just leave it!

Yesterday I posted in this thread. I had only checked this synth using some cheap PC speakers. But later I took it home and gave it a spin...

...

This thing is awesome!!! Its sound can go from cold/ digital to fat/warm very easily. The sequences, tweakability, sound interface are just incredible for donationware or (shareware if you prefer).

Yes the CPU can go high with complex presets and chords but it's woth it. The nag screen is a bit annoying but only when you tweak it. Browsing presets and playback are unaffected by the nag screen. I can live with that or donate a few bucks when I set up a Paypal account

in fact, when you save a waveform, it saves 127 waveforms sequenced together (try to move the 127 cursor next to the waveform name, you could also navigate through the waveforms with the button on the main page, oscilator window). you don't have way to save and load individuals waveforms (each of the 127 waveforms composing a waveform), but only waveform sequence. I think it's a lack, as creating custom waveforms can be really tedious.

I am confused by what you're saying.
Go to the EDITORS window (top right second last button).
Now you are on the EDIT PAGE - go Bottom far right .
Click on the panel marked WAVES
You have the option of Odd harmonics / even harmonics or both - so ANY WAVE CAN BE CUSTOMISED HERE .
It clearly has a Load & Save function with the ability to rename any edit or self constructed wave.
I've already made about 5-6 custom Digital waves myself and they load and save perfectly well (as digital waveforms).
And they take next to no effort to create I my add.
Far less tedious than programming the synth itself actually.
