Or failing that, PSP's MixPack, it includes their MixBass and some other great plugs.

I have not tried Dynamix but 9b0's free (unbelievable for such GOOD eq) EQ is superior. Specially at bass/low frequencies. He is also very helpful. He asked all my questions about his EQ even though he doesn't earn any money on it.
Well, I'll stop licking his ass now. But(t), when I talk to such a helpful person, I am glad to tell people about him and his products.
Best Regards
Rickard Gerthsson

elloxoga Baxxpander is great as a freeware stuff, it works, and the sound is good without too many cpu. its primary aim is fatter basses with analog warmth (a smooth saturation, very nice). It is some kind of a clone of Psp Vintage warmer which is a great tool to fatten basses. PSP mixsaturator is good at this too.
If you want a clean sound without "vintage warmth", give a try at BBE Sonic maximizer (you can get it as a plugin or as a hardware effect), it can make your sound really huge, but sometimes i think it is a little too "catchy" ! just give a try... It has lo contour and a phase correlation algorythm which makes your bass bigger, and uses that equiing technique of enhancing also the trebble to get more presencein the bass.
I tried OtiumFX Basslane (freeware), it was nice at reading its features, but i didn't find it really good when using it. It means to reduce the stereo image of the bass to make it more punchy, if you try it and that it works fine, keep it ! (and tell me, i should have use it badly ! ?)
I also found a freeware plugin calledn, without any gui, it was free, but not as good as the Waves one...
If you don't like any of thme, give a try at at very good multiband compressor : Ozone3 perhaps, or the free Buzzroom grancomp3 (it has many useful features, a great tool).
I was also looking for a good, free and efficient 'lo contour' plugin a few weeks ago, making the phase good in the bass frequencies, making it more punchy in narrowing the stero image, etc. But in the end, i stil use a plugin chain to reach my goal, and it is also good (one eq sub-cutting very low frequencies around20-30hzgives you more headroom for the low freq at 80hz)

Several others have suggested this plug, and I'm a big fan as well...
