When you just have to have four filters being modulated by a total of twelve LFOs, you need Minion!

What a sales pitch and it's freeware :hail:

Wow, this plugin is nuts, but add Lucifer to the mix and it's even better! Thanks for the plugin.

This is one of the most fun plugins I've used. Thank you Steve for making it and for sharing it.

There are a couple of nice effects in this thread. I've just been working with both of them. I'm so glad Minion is free. I've been eyeballing a similar, but not as good, commercial effect.

Thank You

Well Well!

I've got a 1x4 and 4x1 (all stereo) versions for any lucifer/DM customer who asks ;)

Ditto!

ok,

so this thing is f**king killer. It reminds me of something that came out for flash like 4 years ago. An idea!!!

The flash thing had samples on the balls though. What if you had the same type of thing controlling the volume of loops instead of filters?

just an idea, that's it....

WOW this is cool indeed, one the best freebies that came out fo' sho'

thanks again.....here's dw just waiting for DM2:)

Hi there,

This seems to have been an experiment by bitcrusher that went very well indeed! (From what he said, the original intention was just to make the 'Pong' Easter Egg in Lucifer into its own plug-in.) There's _loads_ of scope for extending the basic idea.

As for the loop idea above, there might be a limited solution in certain hosts: if you play the loops into the 4 input version of Minion (available to people who've bought Lucifer or Devine Machine) and have the 'volume' effect type selected for each module. (I can't check it myself as I don't have that version of Minion :P)

BTW for those people after the other versions of Minion, I don't know if bitcrusher's got round to sending them yet. AFAIK he's eating a mountain of pistachio-flavoured Turkish Delight at the moment (he's in the studio) and might not have the time or the means to get them sent out just now.

Bye,
Steve

P.S dusted william: any chance of that Lucifer review for TraxMusic?

Damn I was so looking to playing with this.

Anyway it's course a Visual C++ runtime error: buffer overrun in Audition. :?

AFAIK, Audition doesn't support plugins that require sync to host tempo. With that said I haven't tried Minion in Audition - I own Audition (and love it for trimming thousands of samples) but I haven't ever had much luck with the VST support.

Also, buffer underrun usually refers to disk or audio processing buffers (computer doesn't have enough juice to do what you want) and often tweaking the audio buffer settings can help this.

thanks to everyone for the good feedback on minion. Once I get back home (I'm out of town doing a recording project) I'll see if I can do anything inside of Minion to make audition happy.
