I know, it's about time...
The 2.03 update adds display improvements (all the envelopes and curves are now drawn antialiased). The sysex importer is also able to load TX81 presets (Lately bass anyone ? :-)).
Finally, I've open a users library section on my web site, where Rhino users can share their presets. Please contribute yours.

Have fun,

Let me be the first to say I don't know what a TX81 is. I mean thanks for the update. And the users library section.

Some excerpts from Tim's page:
Basically, the TX81Z is a 4 Operator,8 algorithm FM digital synth with 8 part multitimbral and 3 "pseudo" effects. It also has 128 sounds in memory, including a user bank so you can put in your own custom sounds. Besides Sine waves you can also choose different "harmonical" waveforms, which are not really your typical standard waveforms, but contains certain harmonics of the overtone series. Another great advantage of the TX81Z is it's microtonal abilities. It has 13 non-standard tunings in memory with two slots for user scales.

I almost forgot... here are more than 2000 TX81 presets, ready to be imported into your beloved Rhino.

From www.vintagesynth.com:

"Yet another FM synthesizer from Yamaha, this one comes in a compact, multitimbral, 1-unit rackmount module and is basically a key-less version of the DX-11. It has far more professional features than its relative, the FB-01. The TX81Z features great FM type synth sounds similar also to the DX-21 and DX-27. It's still not as good as the classic DX-7, but it's an inexpensive source of those sounds with lots of programmability. Eight voice polyphony, 128 preset sounds, 32 user and lots of functions hidden behind 11 push buttons.

The TX81Z features a new ability to use waveforms other than just a sine wave. There are eight voices that can be split, layered and detuned. Also onboard are pseudo-effects including delay and reverb. These features can be stored as performance setups. The effects are simply envelope and re-triggering effects. The TX81Z works great as a sound-module for any live or studio production. It's got a wider range of sounds than the DX-7, may not be quite as warm or 'classic' sounding, but at its low price and with the excellent MIDI implementation it makes a great alternative or backup synth for percussive, punchy FM synth sounds. It's used by Fluke, Roni Size, Astral Projection, Squarepusher, Future Sound of London, and Josh Wink. "

Hum, it reminds me good things in the past...

When i was playing live with my synth setup (jv1080, x3 and A3000) and two atari 520, because the pc was not stable.
the best secure setup i've ever had for a very low cost (about 20$ for a brand atari)

HI

I need to re-install Rhino - can I simply install via the Rhino 2 set-up and the 2.03 up-date - in other words can I bypass the 2.01?

It would be nice to have an up-dated installer with all up-dates included.

HI

Actually is the file available yet - all I see is this

"Rhino 2.03 standalone version with ASIO support (experimental)"

This only contains an exec which creates a standalone Rhino which locks my computer up!!!

flipper,
Just get the 2.03 install file from the public area (not from the private area you access with your site code).

HI

Ahhh - I will have to read your e-mails PROPERLY in future!
