Hi,
I was looking for a step filter EQ (very much like the tonic that comes bundled with Steinberg products) for use within Tracktion.
Ill try and upload a sample of the effect im looking at.
thanks

I've also been on the lookout for a Tonic replacement...mainly for the MIDI key follower feature (where the cutoff freq is defined by incoming MIDI note value). I know there was a freeware filter that did this (can't remember offhand), but the problem with it was that it could only go as low as 200-some Hz, which is a bit restrictive.
(Open letter/rant to Steinberg: Dammit! I f'n *bought* SX so can you just please let me use the plugs in whatever host I damn well feel like? I'll even leave the dongle plugged in...)

Hi, I have SX2 not sure I've looked at Tonic, I did try something else they had..anyhow..how about Mumur by Tiny God? http://www.tinygod.com/ It's free, there is also a donation/pay pro version if you like the free version and need something a bit more.

You should....it's a very capable filter IMO.Hi, I have SX2 not sure I've looked at Tonic, I did try something else they had..anyhow..
QuantumFX could be an option - not exactly one of the cheaper options, but you get an awful lot for the money. It has step filters etc, and the bonus is that you can modularise your own setup within QFX. Going from memory, there's a step filter as one of the presets within QFX.
