Of course! Thank you for reminding me of them. *deep bow* I haven't a single LP or CD by GG, which is a drastic omission. Must see about remedying this.

Showing my age....

The Bonzo Dog Doodah Band ("My Pink Half of the Drainpipe" is an all time classic!)
Scritti Politti
Echo and the Bunnymen (remind me of when I thought I really really knew what despair was!)
Wang Chung (pre "Dance Hall Days" - I once saw them at a gig where the band honestly did outnumber the audience)
Hatfield and the North (esp. "Rotters Club")
Kevin Ayres
Runrig (before Donnie Munro left and they all became politicians!)
The Roches

...and probably a few more.

It took four pages but someone finally came up with half decent band.
My favorite chorus from House of Love was this.... I didn't 'discover' them until about 7 years ago when a friend let me borrow their material for a weekend and I fell in love.

Also - how about the Housemartins ? Another band that wasn't famous in the US. Fatboy Slim came out of this band with a completely different style that I don't particularly care for.

Living legends. I used to listen to that whole scene in high school, but I completely forgot about them... until I found out that they are playing here in May. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
