Ah - so it ISN'T just FL. Thanks for the info, Jeez!
IK has a full-fledged bug on their hands, looks like. If it's not fixed in 2.1 I'll be... well, I sent off another e-mail to IK, hopefully they'll respond this time.
I wonder if Squids would mind bringing it up to them - I'll PM him.

The ball is without question in IK's court now - I e-mailed them again and also PM'd Squids to see if he'd be willing to help in the matter.
Now all we have to do is wait until IK responds or fixes it! And if ST2.1 comes and still no fix, all we have to do is get really upset and cause an uproar - I'm hoping you guys are up for helping me with that, but I would be up to doing that by myself if necessary. Too bad IK has no forum
It's a testament to Sonic Reality's commitment to customer service / support that it operates a forum like this and has a representative here to be held accountable for any lapses - no company can go COMPLETELY bad if it has an official forum where an member of the company is well-known and respected.
Not that I think IK isn't going to come through - just preparing for the worst.

IK has a "suggestions" page on their website. I have good word that they treat those suggestions very seriously. I recommend you use it.Rellik wrote:And if ST2.1 comes and still no fix, all we have to do is get really upset and cause an uproar - I'm hoping you guys are up for helping me with that, but I would be up to doing that by myself if necessary. On the other hand, causing and "uproar" here is probably a waste of time.
Forever,
Kim.

No, I used the "suggestions" page and they havent responded - it's been over 3 weeks
I don't doubt that you have it on good word that they check it - it must be broken.
When I say uproar, I don't mean flaming and trolling. I simply mean letting everyone know about the bug and pursuing vigorously the goal of making sure IK is aware of the bug.

It's not broken. IK don't respond to every suggestion. They do, however, have a list of all the suggestions, and the most popular ones are probably in ST2.1 already. Think about it - keyboard/velocity splits, better Stretch and PS/TS algorithms, 16 stereo outputs, etc. These are things are are very useful, and I have no doubt that these features have been popular requests.Rellik wrote:No, I used the "suggestions" page and they havent responded - it's been over 3 weeksI don't doubt that you have it on good word that they check it - it must be broken.

I think I may have been using the wrong terminology - it's a BUG report. For the VSTi to work how it's supposed to is not a suggestion. Either way, they did say they would respond.IK Multimedia's automatic reply wrote:Your e-mail will be answered by the support team asap.
I'm sure all those things are useful and have been requested by many people - I'm not pissed off at IK (yet) or you, and I appreciate SampleTank 2XL for being a great workstation - I use it in everything. But what we're talking about here is whether IK cares about whether their customers have a product that works right - so far I don't see any indication that they do if they won't even reply to my e-mail.
I'm sure you understand - I do appreciate you trying to be helpful in the absence of IK. And I know it's hard for you to sympathize since you work in a host that has real-time rendering - so thanks for not flaming me, I know I'm being a semi-troll, but that's just the way it's gotta be until I get SOME sign that IK actually knows about this problem.

Ok, so IK finally figured out the problem
Will be fixed in version 2.1. The problem lied in ST relying on update timer messages that are intended to update the GUI, which ST2 also for some reason uses to update user-defined MIDI CTL mappings [this includes ones specified in patches, but doesn't include the standard MIDI mappings and mod-vibrato and such].
I'm glad they finally came through - I was really worried for a while, but IK support is nice once you get through to them!
