FR: a mono legato mode where filter doesn't retrigger. And glide/porta only affects held notes.

legato would be nice indeed. I am hearing clicks when playing notes which seems to be a bug.
glad to hear the standalone will be kicked. it's unstable as hell.
keep an eye on it... for future updates but will probably donate anyway to keep up this good work! sorry: great work!

and possibly a bug or possibly my imagination: I hear clicks on notes immediately after changing presets, but after a few seconds it seems to go away

I'm finding that any alternate tunings saved are reset to standard when I reload the project in the host.

i'm curious if there's any room for performance gains. i understand that this is a complex synth that always will use a fair amount of cpu, but it's just that i max out my pentium m 1.6 ghz pretty fast.

oh, and one minor glitch is that if i close the interface and later reopen it, it always start with the preset screen and not with the last opened. thats in ableton live.

FR:
i'd like to have the option in the context-menu to initialize the scales and envelopes (in addition to the load-option).
at least init-scale-files should be available after setup (like for the envelopes). really nice to have would be standard-scales going from left bottom to right top (and another reversed).. perhaps also available thru the context-menu.
btw: great piece of work!! i'm not that into programming sounds (part of my m8
) but this synth is so intuitive that also i can make nice noise.

Just bought it. Nice and tweakable.
But damn it's crashy - standalone and in Energy XT - usually while changing presets.
Thank god for having audio drivers I can open and close without bringing down my whole system.

It's pretty CPU heavy indeed, but understandable as well.
My big question/concern is - why is the .FXB and Patches so large MB wise?
I'm showing 7.54MB when selecting the Default.FXB - that's a bit wack isn't it?
I thought .FXB's et al were like 98kb or something as an average?

Hmm... could it be that the additive wave data is stored as part of the bank?? Lets see.. I didn't count how many partials there are but lets say 64 partials * 127 waves = 8128 times 24 wavetables equals 195072. Not really enough,, oh yea I forgot multiply by 2 to add in phase data for each partial = 390144 and now mult by the number of bytes for a floating point number lets say 8 for double..... that makes 3121152.
Hmm... still not enough. If I subtract that from your number then we get 4418848 and divide by the number of presets 80 we have 55235.6 which we then divide by 4 as a median size of a number we come up with 13808.9.
Huh.. What does that mean... well that is the number of parameters per preset that Foorius may be saving. Every setting of a preset has to be saved, each point in each envelope, each mapping point in in each velocity to amp mapping etc....
Still 13808.9 seems high, I remember Jon saying that Kubik had 4000 parameters that were saved... Foorius has twice the num of oscilators but Kubik has more modulation param...
What this really means is that there is no average size for an fxb it depends upon how complex the synth is and how many presets are in the bank... Still its good you brought it up to the developer cause maybe he can be more efficient with what the host stores..

Ahh, good to know Phil. You made my head hurt with the math, but I see what what you mean.
Not a real biggie for me, but I am on a lappy that's getting stressed for space - and if there is a way it could be shaved down slightly, it'd be nice.
But I can see this wouldn't be 'high priority' either.
But good to know more about .FXB's and all indeed.

Phil's maths is pretty good
The patches include all the wave shapes. This is a bit excessive but I wanted each patch to be complete and not dependent on other files. I started looking into using some form of zip compression but the host's like the chunks to be a constant size. Then I got distracted finding pictures of astronauts.

well, as i don't want to spam a lol-smiley only, i'll just ask something.
do you consider some of the new FRs which were asked lately? since i wrote mine i already saved some initial scales, but still my request would be nice to have.
can we expect a small update soon which fixes the hardcoded paths?
