Hi all,
I'm keen to get some feedback on my plugin G-amp Lite. It's a guitar amp simulator/distortion effect made with Synthedit. If you are a guitarist i'd love to hear from you. :)

KVR page here:

You can download it from here:

Thanks!

This thing is really different from the others, even though
I have amplitube I still have been enjoying the somehow less didtal sound from this little critter.

Thanks very much for sharing,
Interesting web site and info on there too. Mainz eh?

Yeah I use it when I want something different, or perhaps a more classic but upfront overdrive! I like it so - thanks!

Thanks guys, i appreciate your replies. I am glad you like it.

Anyone out there with some constructive criticism? More good comment always accepted :)

I am currently working on another fuller featured amp simulator. i will let you know when it is done.

I'm more interested in the widening thing you mention on your site..Where are you at with that in terms of development?

Sickle, It is close to being finished. I have started to write the documentation, which is good sign. I will post a screen shot soon.

The fuller featured amp simulator (G-amp Phat) I mentioned will have feature a two channels of distorion with adjustable bias so that each channel will have different levels of different harmonics creating a stereo image.

The distortion model for G-amp Phat is the same for G-amp Lite, so I was looking for some feedback on that before I release Phat.

If you like 'Lite', you should like 'Phat' :)

Hi IainF,

I like the sparkly overdrive sound of your plugin, but it behaves somewhat funny for me. It seems like I hear the undistorted signal the same time as the distorted tone. This seems more severe when the distortion isn't quite up full.

I'm using the plugin in SONAR 2.2 with the spinaudio free vst-directx converter (the "lite" version), with an audigy platinum and the Creative ASIO driver at 48 kHz.

Other amp sims (Izotope Trash, ReValver) work fine with this setup.

Cheers
Alex

Alex, you are right, i had noticed that earlier but got sidetracked on practical issues. I had another look tonight and as far as i can tell it is a result of using a bias signal to add even order harmonics.
I will see what i can do.

Alex, i have looked at the issue you raised and have realised that to fix it would require an increase of CPU requirements. I also have been experimenting with some other things (improved cabinet simulations, and better tone voicing) and decided to leave G-amp lite as it is and start work on a new plugin with all of those improvements.

Sickle, G-amp Phat is here!
