I just got to thinking (whilst decorating the bathroom - yet another thing on the list of "jobs to do before any of that computer music stuff")....
...is there a song/tune for every major life event?
Obvious examples that come to mind for starters are:
Being conceived - just name it! "Sexual Healing"? "Relax" (though not with it's original connotation obviously)? "Let's get it on"?
Being born - "Born Slippy"
Childhood - "I am a child", "About a boy"
Teenage years - "Teenage kicks"
Getting married - "White wedding"
Watching your friends get married - "I knew the bride (when she used to rock and roll)"
etc. etc.
The challenge is - can anyone think of a significant event (which could happen to most people, so exclude the "songs about getting married whilst bungy jumping dressed as a chicken" argument) which nobody else can think of a song for?
Regards,
Derek.

The second time having sex. Can't think of a song about it, still 9 out of 10 times it's of significantly better quality than the first time.

But I suppose, "The First Cut is the Deepest" might work.
Dan
I'll be thinking of that every time I hear that song from now on.

Knowing what to expect, a little cocky (no pun,) a bit all over the place still, but rythmic(al) nonetheless, and very very cheesy

"Love's more comf'rtable the second time you fall
Like a friendly home the second time you call"

I don't think that anyone has ever written a song about buying wallboard.
In fact, I don't think that there are any songs about buying ANY home improvement supplies.

A few years ago in my local, I let out a sneaky fart and to my horror I followed through!
I guzzled my pint, quickly left the pub and went home and showered and showered (and showered).
It bugged me so much that I wrote a stupid blues song called "Followin' Through Blues"
Can't really think of another song about that....
