SX3/Sonar4 soundengine

Hi, I wondering whether I should upgrade Sonar 3 or go for SX3 instead, here's a few questions I'm hoping someone here could comment on:
Soundengine- does SX3 sound better than Sonar 4? I've been checking Sonar 3 against the Sonar 4 demo, and v.4. does sound better, a more open transparent sound, more detail if you will. Is there something similar going on between SX3 and Sonar?
CPU efficiency- what's more cpu friendly? Cubase or Sonar? Once again, I've been checking the Sonar 4 demo against v.3., and Sonar 4 is more cpu efficient and has a less fluctuating cpu usage (with the exact same test-files). Something similar going on between S4 and SX3?
thanks

Should you upgrade SONAR 3 or go for SX3? Unless there is something critically compelling to persuade you otherwise or you just have extra money to spend, I would do the upgrade to S4 for the $99.00. BTW, there is a new promotion, whereas you get to pick (1) Smart Loops CD ($49.00 value) for free when you upgrade to S4 through April 28th.

FWIW, there will be a another important S4 update (4.03) coming, in a few weeks. At least for me, this one will be much welcomed and will address an important and long overdue issue.
We're working on a 4.0.3 update that primarily addresses gapping issues. You should expect significant improvments in gapping. No hard ETA yet, but it's coming in weeks not months.

The update and the special offer is for US customers only as far as I can see, I'm in Australia, the update probably costs at least twice as much here (haven't really checked as the australian music retail business is a TAD on the expensive side..)
Anyone know the update price in Australia? Checked the web-site of the importer "intelliware", not very informative

I am not too keen on all the international sales implications, for Cakewalk products. I have read some SONAR forum posts, about problems with the Australian distributor, when SONAR 4, first came out, especially when it came to getting the same full 700+ page manuals (instead of the flimsy condensed international one), that US customers get.
I thought those had been ironed out though.
Cakewalk's maintenance point fix update's (it is only 4.03, not 5.0), are always free and downloadable, for registered customers though. As far as the free Smart Loops CD's, I would contact Cakewalk sales directly, via email, and ask about the Smart Loops CD's and the full manual (if you want one)and the actual cost of the update. Maybe there is something they can do (work out) with your distributor down under.
P.S. I have edited my earlier comments

as an sx3 user i heartily recommend you upgrade to sonar - not that sx 3 is bad far from it - but i assure you that the grass only looks greener and the upgrade option is cheap (i know im living up to the pennypinching scotsman sterotype but hey - you know it makes sense)
sonar has many features i would like in sx - and I am sure the opposite applies - but if you can make music in sonar then keep at it - sx contains nothing massive in difference

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.
