Greetings all,
I am looking for a quality time stretching/pitch shifting, loop mangling piece of software. I pretty much know the strenghts and weaknesses of each after studying them bot for a bit. But what I don't know is how they both work in everyday life.
I know that Melodyne can be just about a full DAW and that Recycle is built for basically one thing, but I wonder does the Studio version of Melodyne REALLY justify the nearly $500 difference in price? And if what I really want it for is loop based work is Melodyne overkill?
Any and all thoughts welcome.....
Thanks to all and my the force be with you all.......

are you aware that there's absolutely nothing in common on both stretching engine ( if you can call it in the recycle's case )
Melodyne is based on resynthesis, means that it works stricly with monophonic lines, nothing, absolutely nothing in common with a time strecher in use in any loop manglers

Melodyne doesn't really chop up loops. It will stretch and change the pitch pretty well.
I actually think recycle and Melodyne are two different beasts.
I haven't tried recycle in a while, but I think it just chops up the loops, but not really stretch them out. You can get individaul slices and place them where you want them witn another app.
I wouldn't even look at recylce but rather another vst beat chopper such as phatmatik pro or the one by ConcreteFX.
I also wouldn't get Melodyne just to stretch loops.
my two cents.
