Is it true that Steve Miller is related to big band juggernaut Glenn Miller?(Father or grandfather?)
There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres. Pythagoras

Jean-Michel Jarre. I've spent the whole of this century so far listening to middle-of-the-road stuff when I could have just put Equinoxe on; shame. :(

I don't think so, from his bio
Steve Miller was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 5, 1943. His mother was an accomplished singer, and his father, Dr. George "Sonny" Miller, was a physician by profession and an amateur recording engineer in his spare time. Many members of Steve's family were musicians, and he received his first guitar at age 4. Steve put it to good use performing songs for his family and playmates.

Les Paul, the inventor of the electric guitar and multi-track recording, and his wife, Mary Ford, were regular visitors at the Miller house. In fact, Steve's father was best man at their wedding. Les and Mary taught Steve his first chords when he was five years old. Steve still uses some of the techniques they taught him at that time.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

They have one album that's pretty decent but then i bought that "Devil with the lid off" or "Hell with the Lid OFF" or whatever the hell it's called. That music was so terrible that I couldn't beleive somebody actually went to the trouble of making and then releasing it. What the hell was that? I think that that was probably the worst cd i have ever bought ever. and the other album was kinda cool. what's up with that?

Post

actually, now that i listen to it, Ned's is not seeming to be as cool as i remembered for some reason. though i'll always like that "All I ask of myself" song.

ahh, Japan. David Sylvian is still going I think
and has some great albums under his belt.
I think Howard Jones is writing pop songs these days.

:([/quote]

I have a few of David Sylvian's solo stuff which in places is very very good. I went to see Howard Jones do an acoustic set in January in Milton Keynes (and briefly met him afterwards). New album form him is imminent I believe.
