I'm a little uncomfortable about this area of DJ software apps. Surely beat matching is what the DJ in there for and distingiushes DJs by their levels of skill in this area. When the software does this automatically it sort of takes away the challenge!?

Maybe it's just me? :?
I tend to agree. To be honest you can always ignore these parts of the app and do it yourself.

More often useful just to establish the tempo of the track to be stored in the MP3 header, so when you load it or browse it you can see what the tempo is straight away.

I'm the same tho, i like to do the work myself, thats part of the pleasure :D

There's nothing more satisfying than pulling off a great mix, it wouldn't have the the same feeling if the software had done most the work for you. :(

I'll be using whatever software I end up with mainly for the filters and loop points.

Edit: Coz I'm thick!

It's got to be said, when i was trying the MIDI control on some DJ software, loop points and filtering with a controller keyboard is just amazing fun :D
