Hey,
so whats the consensus? Since i missed out on ozone and have zero cash, when i do mixdowns for cash, what should I be using? Ive been using the C3 multiband, but I know theres t-sledge and whatnot. I dont really like final mix on tracktion.. ehh... What is recommneded guys?

Did you check out the new Kjaerhus GAC yet? I know it's not free, but it could be a great investment. So far I find it on almost every track I make, since I bought it...rpc9943 wrote:[...] have zero cash,
(Yes I read your question. GAC is not free, but could be a great investment. And it's aimed at channels, not mixdown (although it probably could fit there too)

Although it has no GUI, MJMultibandCOmpressor is still great:

i don't think you will get any better than the Mackie compressors for free.. I suggest you buy Bob Katz'z book, and learn how to use them.

agreed, i sold ozone because of the final mix with tracktion. Not because FM is better than Ozone- I did some very unscientific tests for my own personal assessment by really pushing the compressors in certain frequency bands and found FM couldn't handle heavier compression anywhere near as well as Ozone. However, I also found that for more normal uses in a hobby studio like mine the difference in perceivable quality wasn't worth what I sold Ozone for!!
It is really individual and there is nothing that i needed it to do that i can't acheive with FM and Endorphin and W1 limiter (without the ugly betabugs GUI...sorry).
