My first entry. Verge Garden - those clumps of flowers that bloom at the side of the road being battered by traffic and pounded with gravel and mud.

Victor Hugo wrote:Printemps
Tout est lumière, tout est joie.
L'araignée au pied diligent
Attache aux tulipes de soie
Les rondes dentelles d'argent.
La frissonnante libellule
Mire les globes de ses yeux
Dans l'étang splendide où pullule
Tout un monde mystérieux.
La rose semble, rajeunie,
S'accoupler au bouton vermeil
L'oiseau chante plein d'harmonie
Dans les rameaux pleins de soleil.
Sous les bois, où tout bruit s'émousse,
Le faon craintif joue en rêvant :
Dans les verts écrins de la mousse,
Luit le scarabée, or vivant.
La lune au jour est tiède et pâle
Comme un joyeux convalescent;
La plaine brille, heureuse et pure;
Le bois jase ; l'herbe fleurit.
- Homme ! ne crains rien ! la nature
sait le grand secret, et sourit.
When Victor Hugo meets BabelFish
Spring
All is light, all is joy.
The spider with the diligent foot
Attaches to the silk tulips
the rounds laces of silver.
Shivering the dragonfly
Reflects the spheres of its eyes
In the splendid pond where
A whole mysterious world pullulates.
The pink seems, renovated,
to couple itself with the vermilion button
the bird sings full with harmony
In the branches full of sun.
Under the wood, where any noise blunts,
the apprehensive fawn plays while dreaming:
In the greens jewel cases of foam,
Shone the beetle, living gold.
The moon at the day is tepid and pale
Like a merry convalescent;
To tend, it opens its eyes of opal
From where the softness of the sky goes down!
All lives and is posed with grace,
the ray on the opened threshold,
the shade which flees on the water which passes,
the blue sky on the green slope!
The plain shines, happy and pure;
Wood jase; the grass flowers.
Man! do not fear anything!
nature knows the great secrecy, and smiles.

Well, I shouldn't have uploaded this one in the first place. bad decision and hasty production, bad sounds used, etc. etc. anyway, lesson learnt.
I am withdrawing my submission from this month's contest. But I'll be back next month with better stuff.
I would like to thank WOPELKA for hosting it. I might need your help next month, buddy. If I don't find any better hosting solution.
good luck, everyone!

Well yes, it's Autumn, but...
It Might As Well Be Spring
As immortalised by half-forgotten crooner Dick Haymes:

mit: Phatmatik Pro, Omnisynth, Crystal, z3ta+ and Manystation (Thanks Paul!). And an incredibly secret and time-consuming vocal treatment that you'll never guess.

Here's my entry
She blooms in Springtime
A challenge for me in that my stuff is usually a little more melancholy. Hope you enjoy it
Put together in Logic 5x
All sounds from Korg Trinity
Some Reaktor FX for reverb

No Potatoes
I say It’s Spring, and you say it’s Autumn
So contrare there down on the bottom
I’m top side up, and your upside down
Still we both seem to cling as it’s spinning around
Springtime’s in the air, I’ll plant a garden
Yours is drying up, I beg your pardon
Springtime’s in the air, I like tomatoes
You’re in winter wear digging potatoes
Potatoes…You know there’s nothing really wrong with potatoes
I mean, without potatoes you wouldn’t have like french fries, and hash browns, or mashed potatoes
and all those kind of good potato dishes, you know all those fattening foods
But, well, everybody likes potatoes.
Mmmm potatoes!
Maybe I’ll plant some potatoes in my garden this year, it’s springtime now.
Maybe I’ll plant some potatoes because I like potatoes, but, wait a minute
I can get potatoes in the store for like a buck a bag – I don’t need potatoes!
I think I’ll plant tomatoes – ya – tomatoes. Everybody likes tomatoes ya
Everybody likes tomatoes, potatoes, can’t debate those.
Hey hey ha hey hey! Tomatoes!
Ya – I think I’ll plant some tomatoes in my garden this year
and I’ll plant all kinds of vegetables
Ha ha ha ha ha veg –a -ta -boles ha ha ha ha ha haa!
But no potatoes

Here's one all us guys can look forward to this spring.
She's a Pistol
And I included the lyrics this time!
It's a beautiful day
I promise not to drive away
like I did last time
It' s a beautiful day
If you make me stay I'll sell all your shit on Ebay
She's a pistol
A 44. magnum of pms
And she's loaded for bear
Duck and cover!
Duck and cover!
What did I say?
Duck and cover!
Duck and cover!
C'mon honey, you know I didnt mean it like that.
Duck and cover!
Duck and cover!
No, no those jeans don't make your butt look big, you look great.
Duck and cover!
Duck and cover!
Its a beautiful day
I said I wasnt going to the tappy today
like I did last time
Its a spring sunshiny day
I dont want to stay inside and waste away
She's a pistol
a sawed off shotgun of hormonal stress
and she's out of Midol
NOW I get to go out.

Yup, Down Under we're celebrating Autumn. The colour in the trees, the warm balmy nights of our indian summer and the clear blue skies inspired me to pen this little piece. Enjoy your spring up north!

Spring is in the Air
I planned to do a slow blues, like spring-time instead of summertime... At 128 BPM it seemed more like ZZ Top though, and the final version has a touch of R&B as well.

Toy-list: Gibson Les Paul, Hohner Blues Harp, GAC (5-6 times), 4Front EPiano, Manystation (bass), DR008, Voxengo AnalogFlux"Spring is in the air"
The birds are building nests and the leaves are turning green
The time for making love, not splitting up, making a scene
My heart is hurt and empty, and so is my self esteem
Drank a bottle of Jim Beam, the blues players' morphine
Spring is in the air, and your sunny sexy mood
Should be with me not with another fukcing dude
I missed the signs when you were spending time with your friends
going out with lots of makeup, return in a Mecedes-Benz
Buying sexy dresses with my American Express
Moving out of reach when I try to caress
Spring is in the air, and your sunny sexy mood
Should be with me not with another f**king dude

Spring is about rebirth, and this song is about a girl seeking a rebirth of her own. It doesn't quite work out as planned.
Her Mistake
She slits her wrists and lays in the tub
She's waiting to feel love
From something on the other side
As her tears clean the blade
She knows she's made a mistake
But the blood runs too fast for her to survive
She tries to move but can't
Her cheeks begin to blanch
As her head falls below the waterline
She starts to understand her choice
Of giving in to the noise
And she feels nothing from the other side
Her Mistake
She slits her wrists and lays in the tub
She's waiting to feel love
From something on the other side
As her tears clean the blade
She knows she's made a mistake
But the blood runs too fast for her to survive
She tries to move but can't
Her cheeks begin to blanch
As her head falls below the waterline
She starts to understand her choice
Of giving in to the noise
And she feels nothing from the other side

I tried to remember what spring meant to me when I was twenty something. And it was something like this:
"I want some new kind of kick, I wanna go home mad"
