well if you don't believe in God, that's fine. If you think religion is unhealthy that's fine too. But saying it's a mental illness is just plain wrong. I don't imagine the vast majority of human beings, all those billions of people across the globe are all mentally ill - a psychiatrist certainly wouldn't agree with that even if he was atheist/agnostic - in fact some might argue that not believing in a god is dysfunctional, considering what a universal thing it is. If you still think that belief in God is a form of mental illness, then maybe you need to re-examine your definition of "mental illness". I expect you didn't mean it literally, but then you should say what you mean and mean what you say...

no worries platinumears, I don't really want to argue about it. I said my bit and I won't go on about it. Religion does seem to crop up all the time here (but then I didn't bring up the subject!)

I know I should really.. too lazy / busy / ignorant..
I've been working on a few other plugs actually, which I will probably sell as a pack (for a modest fee) so I'll have to get something together then..

Great idea, you could do a easy to use but effective deesser using your algorithms too.platinumears wrote:mtyas wrote: I've been working on a few other plugs actually, which I will probably sell as a pack (for a modest fee) so I'll have to get something together then..
I'm sure you could sell a few packs if you do other such plugins (wouldn't mind an intelligent gate (using band control).
Anyway, no need for a great looking website, just a simple clear presentation page, for people to find you. You deserve it (and you can always make it better later)

Yeah, a de-esser should be easy: its basically just a preset dynamic EQ.. I've been working on an enhancer along similar lines aswell.mtyas wrote:Great idea, you could do a easy to use but effective deesser using your algorithms too.

There will also be a EQ & dynamics "channel strip" type plug, and possibly a dedicated vocal strip aswell with everything you're likely to need bar reverb..
..then there's the dual-band compressor with 3-stage transfer curves for the dynamics, the 64-bit "IQ4pro" plug, and the great grandaddy of them all: dynamic EQ with 3-stage dynamics for each band..
It going to take me a while to finish them all off though..

Well, it is the "Effects" forum.Sicklecell666 wrote:why the f**k is religion in every other KvR thread here?
Now if God were in the Hardware forum, then you'd have good reason to complain

hiya. first of all, congrats on the release of this plug. it looks really cool, and the reviews seem positive. i've just downloaded a demo and intend to play with it later, when i have time.
just 1 little comment about the M/S processing: it's really most useful when there are separate controls for mid/side. it would be excellent if there were actually 2 sets of params which could be linked. i see that you've already implemented a "stereo/mid/side" switch; perhaps this could by modified to "linked/mid/side", with the mid/side params maintaining their respective states unless linked. just a thought...
anyway, congrats again.
