can't install DS404 in logic 4.7

Have copied the .dll file into vst etc and used plug-in enabler. Can see the ds 404 in th enabler but can't pull it up in a logic song. All other plugins visible but not DS404. Have tried full re-start too.

Have you successfully installed any other VST instrument plugins and opened them up in audio instrument tracks in Logic?

BTW - just out of interest, is there any particular reason why you are using such an old version of Logic?

Thanks Dave for replying.
I have managed to sort out the problem myself. For future reference, I was making 2 mistakes.
1. I copied the ds404.dll file to the wrong folder. (It should go into the 'VST instruments' folder which is a sub-folder of the logic program folder.)
2. I was trying to open it as a plugin, rather than a VST instrument. The unfortunate thing is that all the documentation in the CM mag & coverdisk refers to the DS404 as a plugin.
I haven't upgraded Logic because 4.7 works & I have a working studio that is very busy at the present time. Thanks again for your reply.

DS404 *is* a plugin - a plugin instrument. The terminology is quite correct.
I strongly recommend upgrading your copy of Logic before attempting to use DS404, however. You're going to run into problems saving and loading songs with DS404 samples embedded in, its too old to cope. Check the release notes.
