Though it's not freeware, the demo of Wave Surgeon could be what you're looking for...

It's not expensive anyway.

wow, I had no idea they were still in business. I bought that about 6 years ago -- worked great.Finbar Saunders wrote:Though it's not freeware, the demo of Wave Surgeon could be what you're looking for...

Anyway, you can also use the demo of FLS to slice beats, but you can only export them as audio (FLS demo is save diabled, of course). Ohh, and the Fruity Slicer rules.

you can use The phatmatik pro demo plugin, it slices and dices and saves each slices into its own wav file...the only thing is that the sound drop off every few second but that just in the plugin it doesn't affect the saved wav files.Remedial wrote:Or audio editors (possibly for the Mac) that have this capability?
be sure to download the manual ont he same page to know how to do that
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.

I got the phatmatik demo, then proceeded to try loading it in Multi VST shell (since I don't have a sequencer yet) and it won't load it. Seems like it doesn't load .component files at all. Are there any substitutes?realmarco wrote:you can use The phatmatik pro demo plugin, it slices and dices and saves each slices into its own wav file...the only thing is that the sound drop off every few second but that just in the plugin it doesn't affect the saved wav files.Remedial wrote:Or audio editors (possibly for the Mac) that have this capability?

.component files are Audio Units, and MultiVSTshell will only load VSTs.Remedial wrote:I got the phatmatik demo, then proceeded to try loading it in Multi VST shell (since I don't have a sequencer yet) and it won't load it. Plogue Bidule will load either on a Mac, there's a free version until at least June :

Do you want a slicer that exports the slices as audio, or do you just want to be able to play each slice via MIDI ?
If the second option is OK, then you can get the pluggo Luppo1 for free from here :
http://www.sonoria.pl/jk/pluggox.html
You'll just need to also install (also free) Pluggo Runtime as well, see the link at the top of the same page - then you'll be able to run Luppo as Audio Unit or VST or RTAS.

I would really like to have one that exports slices, although this does look pretty cool.Pantsdown666 wrote:.component files are Audio Units, and MultiVSTshell will only load VSTs.Remedial wrote:I got the phatmatik demo, then proceeded to try loading it in Multi VST shell (since I don't have a sequencer yet) and it won't load it. grab all of his stuff - Ddram is a great drum sampler (waveform display of each audio file, choose which section you want to trigger), Limofive is my favourite multi-band distortion, FluidsynthZERO gets a lot if use here as a free soundfont player.Remedial wrote: I would really like to have one that exports slices, although this does look pretty cool.
