I think I already know the answer to this, but who here swaps gear the most?
call me crazy, but with the exception of my keystation 88(which replaced a roland PC-200 that I owned since 99) most of my gear is 5-6 years old. I have only sold one license(reaktor) and I have used the same basic apps (sonar, FL studio and reason) since their 1.x releases

I sold some hardware synths about ten years ago - apart from that I buy little but keep everything.

In the time I've been posting on this particular forum my setup has been in rather a state of flux.
When I joined KVR I had recently switched from Cubase SX1 to Tracktion and was dangerously close to fanboy status. But over time I began to get annoyed by bugs in Tracktion, and started looking elsewhere...
...and found Adobe Audition, which I instantly loved and still do. A great solution for multitrack audio recording/editing/mastering.
I upgraded by Live 2 license (which I'd barely used - long story!) to Live 4, and temporarily left Tracktion last autumn. But then I had issues with Live 4 and returned to Tracktion before Christmas.
Now the T2 demo is out I find that my Ozonic controller (also recently bought) doesn't work with T2 (at present) and several bugs from T1 are still there. In the meantime the problems I had with Live 4 have been solved, so it looks like I'm back on Live 4 as my main host for now.
Alongside all this I had been playing with the FL5 and Sonar 4 demos fairly constantly for the last 6 months, and think that as 2005 progresses I may go further down the Cakewalk route...
But throughout all this I've used Reason since v.2.0 and am just about to upgrade to 3.0, which is fantastic. Phew!
I feel like a software whore, that's for sure. but I'm just trying to establish a setup that is perfect both for me as a musician and for the students that I teach. Tracktion seemed to be the solution that suited ALL these needs, but it's turning out that Tracktion was in fact too good to be true

There's a guitarist on another forum I visit. I think that guy could beat most everyone here in terms of gear-mania. He exchanges his amp once every week or so, and each time he claims it's the love of his life. Before you know it he's saying that it was a piece of crap and it was killing "his sound".
He also goes through guitars like you wouldn't believe. In one week last year he went through 3 $3,000 guitars. He also has the Waves diamond bundle (How much does THAT go for?) as well as too much other stuff to list.
Most of his ever changing collection is hardware, but I swear he's got more effects boxes, amps and converters that most music stores. And he just exchanged another amp last week.

I've seen crack addicts that are less dependent on their fix...ttoz, from a thread in Marketplace wrote:well I am in a real shit. I pmd for z3ta INSTANTLY, within minutes of this thread being started, without a shadow of a doubt I was the first, as the thread only had 1 view at the time, and I said I was ready to pay and take it 100%. Now I see you havent even checked your pm's yet. Look at the timing of when they were sent, and please do the right thing Van Lichten.(i.e. givie it to the first sender, there should be a time on your received pm's)..Thanks.
