Hi

I've bought the downloadable version of their J-Fingered bass.

After loading in Kontakt it plays fine, but stops after presseing any of the switch key buttons or moving of the mod. wheel.

I have no idea where the problem is. I tried a few hosts and it is reproducible. Two keyboards as well (evolution and clavia NE).

The problem might be in Kontakt settings as I'm fairly new to it, but everything else seems to work alright.

Has anybody experienced the same problem?

My main host is Tracktion, but I've tried it in P5 and Sonar4 demos as well (same thing).

I've narrowed it down to the switch-key only.

When I press any of those - no sound anymore.

Sure it won't help you but I can tell you that in VSampler 3.5, the Halion version load and play fine.

Unable to load the Kontakt version though... Only a strange error message!

How does Vsampler work generally?

A lot of posts say it's kind of buggy.

Works generally well for me and can import a lot of format. Well, a little crash here and there sometimes...

Surely it is far from perfect.

Also, I cannot compare with the others (GigaStudio, Kontakt, Halion, Mach5...) because I bought VSampler when I got Sonar 3. The full VSampler upgrade was something like 60 canadian dollars I think.

To conclude, I can say that it is a remarquable piece of software (for me... I can't speak for the others) and when you finally understand the complex way it works (weird non convivial GUI at my point of view with some interesting functions buried away), it is a superb cheap sampler.

Don't forget the lack of real manual too so you have to learn it the hard way. But, I love it and use it everyday.

Oh, I almost forgot, there are interesting features called DRC and RAMBO:

- DRC: kind of disk streaming.
- RAMBO: when this function is engaged, you play your file and VSampler keep only the needed samples for this song in RAM!

I'm using the 1.5.2 version, sound completely disappears after pressing any of the keyswitches C0 to G#0, the only sound that still works is on A0.

Sound comes back after pressing the release trigger button.

I've downloaded the VSampler demo, loaded the Halion bank, it works like a charm there.
