I know there was thread in the Sample forum on the launch of the Freesound Project (run by Bram from smex), but I thought I'd start a new one here.
Has anyone signed up for this and had a look through the samples? The list is starting to grow, so anyone here interested in useful sound material should at least check it out.
If for no other reason than to check out the very cool website interface. Each sample gets listed with a waveform preview graphic and an audio playback preview button.

I listened to several samples this afternoon.
bleh..
Sure to grow more in time, though..I was considering uploading a few samples myself. Good browsing as you mentioned.

I heard some good crowd and outdoor stuff. A little heavy maybe on the processed synth sounds, but it's a start. I'm not sure if Bram is the one behind the browsing interface, but I've never seen a better set up for this kind of material.

i'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about this... it looks HUGE. i can easily see this becoming the to go place for samples of all kinds. the sample preview and waveform display is great and it makes browsing through lots of samples much easier.

It's looking like an interesting project.
Think I will sign up the next days (or maybe even now).
