CUBASE SE = HELP NEEDED

Ive just bought a copy of SE but im havin nothing but trouble with it. I cant seem to get the vst intruments to automatically load up when i open the program, ive followed the manual instructions and they upload for that session but then when i press the keys on the keyboard only a few get an output.
All im left with is this



any ideas? thanx for any help

Well if you need the instruments to load up automatically, you need to start up some instruments and then save the template. The default template is called....tada....."default.cpr". It's located in the Cubase SE folder I believe. You need to overwrite that.
But do you really need the same instruments for every new song you start on?


In case you don't know how to open them press F11.

Also, I think you need to do this in order to get a sound:
On the left where it says "out:microsoft midi mapper" you need to select your Virtual instrument. That should do it.

whoops ok that would be one of the problems. I clicked dont save when I closed the program. Just leaves the problem of the sound now.
