Fredrikgroth wrote: here is a pre-prod demo of a song for our next album. The only difference from my descriptions above is that it does not have any Guitar Suite JCM900-tracks; all guitars are V-AMP. Click here to listen: http://www.storyteller.nu/2005/2005groth3voc2.mp3
Holy shit, that sounds great! I must admit, I'm sort of a sucker for old school power metal like that  (although for a bit there, before the vocals kicked in, I almost expected to hear Angela Gossow  ) Reminds me a bit of Stratovarius, or Blind Guardian. What's the name of the track, or does it have one yet?

Vocals: UA LA-2A > 1176LN or Fairchild 670 > PultecPro, plus some EMT 140, Celmo Echoreq, CD100 chorus/delay, or SpaceF ECHO3. I mess around with the UA Nigel amp sim a lot on vocals too.

Bass: Celmo BassAmpModeller > UA 1176LN, Valvetone or Hydratone. LA-2A for slower basslines.

Drums: DFH Superior with a combination of 1176LN for kick/snare mults and ambience mics, Fairchild on overheads, PultecPro + Hydratone + GlissEQ for EQ duties, EMT 140 for additional verb (mono snare send or some basic ambience for the whole kit), AFTapeBus

E.Guitar: Celmo BAM or Rednef Twin (when not using my Johnson Millenium 150 amp...although I have been liking the sound of GuitarRig and Scarbee VKFX, but I can't afford either), mda detune, CD100 dynamic chorus/delay, Voxengo AFChorus, SpaceF ECHO3, Celmo Echoreq, 1176LN > Hydratone, EMT 140 verb or P100 plate verb sends

A.Guitar: Fairchild670 or 1176LN, PultecPro + GlissEQ, EMT 140

I have a feeling that when UA release the Roland CE-1, Dimension D, and RE-201 SpaceEcho, they will all become essential for my guitar tracks.
