Tracktion's made in the uk? really - that seems strange considering the rumour (& as yet it is only a rumour) that the $149 cost of tracktion for stateside buyers will translate into a £149 cost for brits. hmmmmmmm......

I'm currently on a steep learning curve with Podium.
Wanted an alternative host to Cubase SX 2.2 for advanced midi handling (sysex etc.) and quality support.
Podium more than fulfils on both counts !
Frits is an awesome one-man band....

and I'm pretty sure Frits said these are high up on the list of things to do... though he wont be doing any major feature additions for a couple of months because he's updating the Podium Guideeyeknow666 wrote: From an audio recording mostly point of view....
Podium does not have envelopes/fadeinout
Podium has no way of looping a clip more than once, at least tracktion has a "loop this clip" and then how many times you want

I like how you pick what parameter to automate (their all there in the "strip"), and then that parameter gets a new track, also an own slider in the mixer if you use that. Very nice. And that parameter automation is the same no matter if it's vst parameters or midi device parameters.eyeknow666 wrote:? I guess maybe I'm not getting this........what exactly is it that is turning you on more with podium? I'm super curious man!christianmusicmaker wrote:

Podium seems to have the edge for me in this area.

Hey, Scott!
For someone who’s self-taught, your Swedish is pretty darned good.
Can’t help but wonder what would posess a Michiganian to learn Swedish, tho.

Hej Yoss,

why everything must turn in a war?
i have both tracktion and podium...some thing i like something i don't in both of them...
i have to say anyway that i like the 'small company' thing...
frits is givin' me more hopes for the future.
to me seems that the mackie thing has changed something in the relationship between users and jules..
there was a time when this communication was dinamic and productive.
In my humble opinion it's no more..
anyway Tracktion remain one of the best sequencing software around.
but i feel Podium has a more 'dinamic' future
only my humble opinion

It would be kind of like me learning Bulgarian just to go there on holiday.
I thought there might be some Swedish ancestry in the background but I guess that's more around Minnesota.
Hope you can keep up the Swedish and come back some time.

I'm more impressed, or perhaps depressed, that so many Americans do not speak any other languages than english, and that so many swedes and other non-'english as a first language' europeans can communicate so flawlessly in english, with either a mid-west american or British accent.Yossarian wrote: Scott, I'm deeply impressed.![]()

I would love to visit Sweden again. I paid for my family to visit with me, and we have nothing but positive memories of our time there. We miss it quite a bit. In fact, we make visits to IKEA in Chicago (the nearest to my house), just to buy hushållsost, Daim, and other sundries whenever we happen to be in the Chicago area. We miss hushållsost the most, and also raspberry (hallonbär) flavored soda.

I guess they don't have any real incentive, you can get by with English in most parts of the world. I suppose some Spanish could come in handy in certain parts of the US, tho.rockstar_not wrote: I'm more impressed, or perhaps depressed, that so many Americans do not speak any other languages than english
I'm guessing you were here during the summer half of the year, then?I would love to visit Sweden again. I paid for my family to visit with me, and we have nothing but positive memories of our time there.
I prefer a really aged Västerbotten, the kind that makes you feel like your gums are recedingwe make visits to IKEA in Chicago (the nearest to my house), just to buy hushållsost
Too sweet for me, give me a Pommac any day.We miss hushållsost the most, and also raspberry (hallonbär) flavored soda.
