Hi everyone, here's a little poll for Giga users.
I would like to know if some of you would be interested in a bundle of our following sample sets in the giga 3 format:
- Prepared Rhodes full and light versions
- Julie's Vocal FX collection
- Julie's Scats collection
The regular price of the 3 sets together is $60.00 USD, they're all currently available in various formats but not in Giga 3. The bundle for Giga would sell for $50.
You can check the existing demos here:
http://www.lesproductionszvon.com/freesounds.htm
Feel free to ask questions or add suggestions and comments even if you answer the Poll.

The last option I wanted to put in the poll was cut.
It was "Why a bundle, would buy some separately".
So if you say "No" or "Probably not" to the bundle. You can specify in this thread if you would buy one or the other of the sets separately.
Thank you

Voted "Probably not".
My reasoning: I already have all of your stuff, I think, and while I have been a proponent of supporting lots of different samplers, for some reason Giga doesn't interest me. Partly I suppose because I don't have GigaSampler - but I do have VSampler which will load them, but you already have VS3 format. Also Kontakt may load them, I think, but still it doesn't really interest me.
That may just be ignorance. Is there anything inherently advantageous to the Giga format that would make it more suitable as a format?

Once a sample is recorded and the same sample is converted to various formats, there's no inherent advantage from one format to the other. The reason to have multiple formats is to reach more users. As in this case Giga users.mn wrote:Is there anything inherently advantageous to the Giga format that would make it more suitable as a format?
Once a sample is in a sampler, different formats will have different advantages according to each sampler playback engine. For instance, Vsampler 3 has a pretty cool step sequencer, but when I convert a Vsampler 3 file to another format, all its specific features will be lost in the other formats and vice-versa.
Another example, if you buy one of my products for the Wusikstation and some of its presets have pretty nice wavesequences. These will all be lost when converted to a soundfont.
But specifically when buying one of my products, you buy the samples themselves and no specific programming. The exception being the Wusiksation versions and the RMIV drum kits where there is specific programming.
Though I plan to do at some point specific programming for more formats.
Hope this helps you.

Hello zvon, I voted yes.
I only have the prepared Rhodes in Wusik format.
Since Gigastudio is now my sampler of choice (have two GigaStudio 3 licenses) , I would _love_ to have all these sample sets in giga3 format.
BTW, you may get a better response if you post here:
http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/for ... y.php?f=15
EDIT: actually, on second thoughts, maybe not to post on NorthernSounds unless gotten permission from the owners. They're a bit touchy on some matters
Also, you should consider adding the Kontakt, Halion and EXS24 formats to reach the widest possible audience.

Yes, they are. A company can only post there if it advertises with them.meroveus wrote: EDIT: actually, on second thoughts, maybe not to post on NorthernSounds unless gotten permission from the owners. They're a bit touchy on some matters![]()
Kontakt and Halion are already considered, EXS24 maybe.meroveus wrote: Also, you should consider adding the Kontakt, Halion and EXS24 formats to reach the widest possible audience.
