How fast is your P4?

OK - Willamette era P4 is inferior performance-wise to later Northwood P4.

Are you using DDR SDRAM or older SDRAM - if the latter you will have a lot less performance on memory and CPU heavy plugs.

I have a P4 Northwood at 2.6 GHz and I do not get anything like the CPU load you reported.

Aleksey suggests you use the lower CPU modes - unless you are rendering in which case you can use the full quality available. The Auto mode will do this automatically.

i do have a northwood, i got a 1.6a actually...sorry to mistake!

With HQ and Phasy mode on, it eats up about 30% of my CPU...too bad since it sounds pretty nice. Phasy mode seems to add a lot of CPU consumption, and obviously HQ mode will approximately double the load.

CPU power is going to be taken up if you want revolutionary quality. 1.6 ghz aint that much anymore by today's standards...time for an upgrade maybe. Also, i think this plug was updated to v1.1...try upgrading and see if that helps.

BTW, Alesky, tried the demo of this thing and it's smooth as sex! I want one sooo bad!!! can't afford anything right now though...definitely in the future. This and curve eq...had my eye on them. ; )

peace!
