That has been my experience also. My standard operating procedure these days is to compose in Live and use the session view to dice/slice/rearrange till I get the core of what I want. I then "cntrl J" everything and move it over to Cubase for final fxs and mixing. The moving over is a pita but for some reason (no pun intended) I can't get comfortable with rewire-ing.
