If I have a midi clip and I automate something like volume or an EQ or a vst parameter, and later I decide that the song's tempo is not quit right and change it from something like 120 bpm to 115 bpm, will the automation change with the clip or will I have to redo it?
Does automation change along with an audio clip that is stretched to change it's tempo?
Project 5 and Sonar. Do they have clip based automation?

The automation will change with the tempo so that is no problem. If the audio clip is beat mapped, such as an Acid file, and you use automation then changing song tempo will be no problem. The audio clip and the automation with change with the tempo.
Edit - Corrected in the next post. (If the automation is tied to a regular wave file and you decide to stretch the wave file at a later time, I do not think the automation with stretch. I believe automation is tied to the song tempo.)

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

In SONAR, whether or not the clip automation changes with the tempo depends on the clip. For MIDI clip or groove clips (ACID loops) yes, automation follows tempo. For non-stretch streamed audio clips the clip automation is locked to the sample within the clip.
